Alumni Launches New Seminar Series at the Ted Rogers School of Management

Having our seminars at the Ted Rogers School of Management with Alumni allows us to re-connect and add value.

This past October marked the launch of the Hogg, Shain & Scheck PC Seminar Series featuring Economist Brian Beaulieu, CEO of the Institute for Trend Research. Ed Scheck, Partner at Hogg, Shain & Scheck PC, graduated from Ryerson University in 1972. After a long and successful career he has decided to give back to the business school where he got his start. In addition to sponsoring this seminar series Hogg, Shain & Scheck has recently donated to the new Ted Rogers School of Management Careers and Employer Partnerships Centre.

Business Grads Reconnect at Alumni Weekend 2012

During the month of September Ryerson celebrated the most successful alumni weekend ever held at the university.

Alumni Weekend at the Ted Rogers School of Management kicked off with a 50th celebration for the Business grads of 1962. Former students enjoyed a personal tour given by our very own Dean Ken Jones. Dr. Jones led them around the facilities, named by Ted and Loretta Rogers in 2006 sharing stories of student success and his personal experiences as the Dean.

OREA Establishes New Award for Students

NEW AWARD TO BE OFFERED TO RYERSON STUDENTS WITH AN EYE FOR REAL ESTATE

April 11, 2012 – This coming fall Ted Rogers School of Management (TRSM) students with a bright future in the real estate world will have a student financial award just for them thanks to the Ontario Real Estate Association (OREA). The first of its kind at TRSM it will be open to top students who have completed the Real Estate Finance course (FIN707). Through OREA’s donation the student who achieves the highest level of excellence in FIN707 will be recognized at the annual School of Business Management awards ceremony.

Toronto, Ontario, February 24, 2012—Yesterday, the Honourable Lisa Raitt, Canada’s Labour Minister, attended a meeting with representatives from the Centre for Labour Management Relations (CLMR) at RyersonUniversity. During the meeting, the Minister and senior executives from the CLMR and Ryerson discussed how the Centre and the Government of Canada can encourage relationship-building and understanding in today’s challenging economy.

Student wins Royal Bank of Canada Scholarship for Undergraduates

The Royal Bank of Canada has named Retail Management student Naila Abbasova as the recipient of one of six $10,000 Scholarship Awards for Undergraduates.

Each year, RBC awards its scholarships to students who share their passion to succeed and thoughts on leadership.  Through an essay based awards submission, Abbasova impressed RBC with her inspiring story of achieving excellence in her education when she immigrated to Canada.
